Finally another successful event!!!
I would like to thank Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental for our venue.
Negros Island, the fourth largest island in the Philippines, is believed to have once been part of a larger landmass, but was cut off by rising waters at the end of the last ice age. Among the early inhabitants of the island were Negritos and later the Malays, as well as Han Chinese, who are merchants. They called the island “Buglas”, a native word which is believed to mean “cut off”.
and…
A favourite among travellers, Dumaguete City is far more hip and urbane than your average provincial capital, partly because it is a university town, and partly because 4000 expatriates live here (as opposed to 400 in Bacolod). It’s a confident place that really knows how to be a town, with a cosmopolitan harbour front promenade lined with upmarket bars, restaurants and food stalls.
Once again, my heartfelt gratitude to the participants, guests, officers, parents, sponsors and officials for another successful tournament.
I would like to extend my thanks again to the members of the board of World Archery Philippines’ VP-Marketing Boone Ongchoco and VP-Sheree Gotuaco, to Coach Joy Marino, Asst Coach Marvin Cordero and Coach Clint Sayo for joining with us in the torunament.
To all the officials from Judges Committee & Tabulators/Scorers namely; Fe Empeynado, Mildred de Leon & Majah Najah Lojato, to the Ground Crew Members, Noel Gara, Rommel Bien and to all not mentioned here, once again thank you so much.
We are grateful to the sponsors of this big event, the Province of Negros Oriental with their Governor Roel Ragay Degamo and to the Dumaguete Dept. of Tourism with Ms. Jacqueline Veloso-Antonio as their Tourism Operation officer, to Mr. Paultom Paras, the Provincial Sports Officers and most especially to Hon. Felipe Antonio Remollo, the Mayor of Dumaguete City for the attending our opening program.
It was indeed another massive participation of the archers from different places in our country.
Congratulations to all the winners and see you soon on our 3rd Philippine Archery Cup, Luzon Leg!!!
Below are the final results of the competition for both Qualifying Round and Olympic Round.
