Amaya Paz-Cojuan12924563_10153865011862529_2162608793582085345_ngco lived up to her billing as the Philippines top lady compound archer when she steered the National Team to a 2-silver and one-bronze medal victory in the Asian Archery Cup in Bangkok, Thailand.

Paz-Cojuangco, a PSA major awardee bagged the silver in the Women’s Compound Individual event , led Jennifer Chan and Joan Tabanag to another silver in the Women’s Team competition and to the Mixed team bronze with Jeff Adriano.

Paz-Cojuangco told Sports Radio that though she failed to duplicate last year’s 2-gold and one-silver win, she is content with this year’s showing considering that she has yet to reach her peak form in this opening tournament of the archery season, setting the game plan for the rest of the year in terms of equipment and training.

She plans to compete in the next Asian Cup in China and the World Cup in Antalya, Turkey in June.

Some misfortune in the last ends of the finals cost us two gold medals, with Aya losing to India’s Manee-Sombatkul Kanyavee, 138-142, and the Philippine Women’s team yielding to Malaysia, 217-224, and then bowing to Kazakhstan , 148-149 in the Mixed event for the bronze medal.

The Pinoy Recurve specialists led by Gabriel Moreno and Rachelle dela Cruz, who are preparing for the last Olympic Qualifier in Turkey, failed to make it to the medal column.
